NBCUniversal Local Impact Grants

Presented by NBC and Telemundo Owned Television Stations and the Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation

Applications will be accepted beginning March 14, 2023 until April 21, 2023. Winners will be announced in August 2023.

The Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation is partnering with the NBC and Telemundo owned stations located in 11 markets to present NBCUniversal Local Impact Grants, a program for unrestricted grant funding recognizing local nonprofit organizations.

NBCUniversal Local Impact Grants will award exceptional nonprofit programs that are addressing one of three community issue areas: Youth Education and Empowerment, Next Generation Storytellers, and Community Engagement. The Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation is committed to supporting the interests and needs of our diverse communities.

The Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation and following NBC and Telemundo stations located in 11 markets will award a total of $2,475,000 in 2023: San Francisco Bay Area, Boston, Chicago, Hartford, Dallas Fort-Worth, New York, Philadelphia, San Diego, South Florida, Southern California, and Washington, D.C. Please view the full list of eligible zip codes HERE.

The grant application process is competitive. We look forward to reviewing exceptional nonprofit programs that are addressing these local community issues in an innovative way.

The Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation and NBC and Telemundo stations will accept online grant proposals for NBCUniversal Local Impact Grants through this portal through Friday, April 23, 2023 at 8p.m. Eastern Time. Only complete applications will be accepted.

Please note:

- Fiscally sponsored organizations are eligible to apply NBCUniversal Local Impact Grants. If applicable to your organization, the application should be submitted and certified by the fiscal sponsor, as the sponsor will be the ultimate funding recipient if selected for a grant.

- Organizations must provide a IRS Form 990 in order to apply (2020 or more recent).

- Nonprofit organizations aren’t prohibited from submitting more than one grant application. However, only one application across all markets will be accepted for consideration as a finalist for a grant. If you are an organization with multiple “chapters” or “affiliates” applying under the same EIN please coordinate internally as only one application across all markets will be accepted for consideration UNLESS they share a Fiscal Sponsor or Group Exemption. If your organizations’ chapters all have separate EIN numbers, then they can all apply for Project Innovation separately.
